Import/Export Data - Exporting Data

For Excel, you'll export using comma (,) and quotes (") as the delimiter and field enclosure characters.  For Open Office, or the backup CSV you'll always export first, you can use carat (^) and tilde(~).

ONLY use Excel if you are NOT re-uploading the descriptions. The reason you use carat (^) and tilde (~) for the backups, is that descriptions often have commas and quotation marks, which Excel uses as delimiters.

Uploading a file with descriptions that include commas and quotes may completely hash your data.

Backup your data with the Backup option.

DOUBLE-Backup your data by saving it to your computer. Export the first one with “default ordering,” using ^ and ~ (carat and tilde) as the Delimiter and Field Enclosure Characters.

Export a CSV file to use with Excel. Make sure comma (,) and quotation marks () are the delimiters.
