If you are using Constant Contact, you can configure your website settings to let shoppers opt in to one of your Constant Contact mailing lists at checkout. You can also create a generic website signup form to visitor to opt-in to your Constant Contact mailing list.

tip: Open one tab in your web browser for Constant Contact, and another one for the Admin back end of your site.


How to Configure the cart to send signups to your Constant Contact mailing list

Constant Contact Steps:

  1. Log in to your Constant Contact account. 
  2. Create the mailing list that you will want your STN website to communicate with (supports only one list).
  3. Write down the ID number for the Constant Contact list you want to use. It's a small number. The "List Order" may be the same as the "List ID," but you can check by clicking on the list you want to use, and looking at the URL in your browser's address bar. Find "browse?listId= " the list ID number. In the example below, its 4.

  5. Click the link below to generate a Constant Contact API key code. Copy it. It's a big number.

Letterman Component Steps:

  1. Log into the back-end of your STN site and go to Components >> Letterman >> Configuration. 
  2. Skip down to the Constant Contact section and fill in the blanks.
  3. Save
  1. The default email from address is the address that Letterman will use as the "Send From" so if any onyone replies to the newsletter the reply will come to this email address. *This is only applicable to Letterman and newsletters being sent using Letterman
  2. Check to box to enable the Constant Contact connection. 
  3. Enter your Constant Contact user name.
  4. And your Constant Contact password.
  5. Paste in the API key that you generated on the Constant Contact site. If you do not have a Constant Contact API key, then refer to step 3 above under "Constant Contact Steps".
  6. Enter the mailing list ID that you want the site to communicate with. You can only communicate with one list on Constant Contact. If you do not have the unique mailing list ID, please refer to step 2 above under "Constant Contact Steps".





How to create a website signup (opt-in) form for your Constant Contact mailing list


  1. Log in to your Constant Conact account
  2. navigate to your Contacts
  3. complete the steps for creating a signup form
  4. copy the provided code and paste into your website (or send to your project manager if you need assistance)

Consider Archiving your Constant Contact newsletters

To extend the reach of your newsletters, consider using the Constant Contact Email Archives feature, and link to your archives page from your website -  or repost your newletters on your website as content pages.
