This explains how to successfully import the CSV file you created.

Note: Specialty Toys Network supports the CAN-SPAM Act and if we see the newsletter system is being abused and not following the rules in your agreement with Specialty Toys Network then we reserve the right to discontinue your membership.

Step 1. In the back end of your site, go to Components, Letterman, Subscriber Management.

This brings you to the Select a Subscriber screen.

Step 2. Click the Import Subscribers button at the top right.

Step 3. Choose a file.

Click the 'browse' button next to CSV Import File. Go to the place you saved your .csv file and choose it.

Step 4. Tell it to start from line 2, if your file has headers.

Do you have column headers? If the address and name columns in your CSV aren't labeled, at the top, leave it to start from line 1.

If you DO have column headers, start from line 2, in order to skip them.

Step 5. Make sure the CSV Delimiter is a comma.

Step 6. Hit "Save."

Step 7. You will get a confirmation screen.

Hit Continue to exit the screen.

Step 8. Note: if you see errors in the confirmation screen, you may need to review your CSV file, and upload again.

Check your subscriber list if you get errors in the confirmation screen. The system is setup to skip lines with common errors (such as fields missing e-mail addresses) and continue to the next line. So the errors may or may not be an indication that you need to "fix" your CSV file.

some common reasons for errors:
a) duplicate email addresses in the email column
b) fields without email addresses
c) columns that are not in the correct assignment (see step 3)
d) incorrectly formatted email addresses
